What is the capacity of these urns?

This urn has a capacity of 200 cu in. Industry rule of thumb is 1 cu in per lb of live weight. While this is a full size urn, it can safely hold ashes of smaller persons. We also make this urn an an extra large 350 cu in capacity and a keepsalk.
Does the lid secure tightly to prevent spills?

Yes. This urn has a thinly threaded metal lid that closes tightly to ensure that the the ashes of your loved one will be properly secure, and to prevent spills.

Uses: Is this urn suitable for outdoor use or burial? Can it be taken on a plane?

Urn is designed for interior use. Placing it outdoors will damage the finish but will not hurt the structural integrity of the urn. For burial, ask funeral home or cemetery if a vault is required. This urn can't be used to take ashes on a plane.
